Curly hair content dump

(Fixed the link for the female simstore hair since it had disappeared into the abyss)

These are some old hair sets I found hiding in the dark realms of the Projects folder. They are all binned, linked to a grey and have meshes included (except for the SimStore ones). I only have Bodyshop pictures of these but they are pictured from different angles, so you should still get a fairly good idea of what the overall hair looks like. So let's begin...

SimStore mesh with my edited Nouk curls, edited Maxis textures and some hand painting. I think this is an adult only mesh. The mesh is not included and is called something like "amstoreflick". Download @ Box.net

Helga 82 with my curly textures and alphas. Download @ Box.net

Not too happy with this myself but someone out there may like it. Nouk's Jessica mesh with my curly textures and alphas. The ribbon tie is by Jessica I believe. Download @ Box.net

Peggysomething with my curly textures, alphas and coloured ribbons. The ribbons are different for each hair colour. Download @ Box.net

Helga 96 retextured with curliness. This hair uses bits of Phobia's alphas. I adore this hair :) Download @ Box.net

Another SimStore mesh retextured, and again the mesh is not included. I recommend the "no fivehead" fix of this mesh at MTS. Download @ Box.net

Curly textures on Yuxi's MTF mesh. Download @ Box.net

Curly textures and alphas on Zanki99's mesh. I think a little bit of the alphas may be Quintcia's still, so credit to her. Download @ Box.net

They're all very nice, but the one I like the most is the male hair. I love the overall effect of handpainting and I'm a fan of your handpainted hair textures, which makes me ask you: I know about your handpainted lipstick tutorial at GOS, but how about a tutorial on handpainting hair textures? I know there isn't a large demand on this, but if you at least give me some pointers (mainly about good brushes for handpainting hair), I'd be very thankful.

You're welcome :D Your advice isn't rubbish, actually it's quite helpful because as I use Photoshop I'm overwhelmed by how many brushes it has by default and don't know where to start. And I've always wanted to use Gimp but have not used yet because it seems so different from photoshop it scares me /o\

So thanks for your advice! I'm going to try my hand at painting with Gimp now :D

I'm enjoying it so far! Despite not having the shortcuts and the interface being a little weird for someone who's used to Photoshop, it's really easier to paint with it :D

What I'm really liking too is your tutorial on natural hair colors (I downloaded it more than a year ago and found it recently lurking in my hard drive), and I find your colors to be the most delicious ever (that chocolate brown <3), if hair colors can actually be delicious :P
